Wedge Island Accident: A tragic crash at a beach on the Western Australian coast has claimed the life of a 34-year-old woman and left two others injured. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 6:50 pm yesterday.
The incident occurred at a beach about three kilometers north of Wedge Island, a picturesque natural attraction situated 160 kilometers north of Perth. The driver of the car, a 34-year-old woman, was declared dead at the scene by first responders. Two passengers in the vehicle—a 31-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl—sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
Two additional occupants of the car, a 35-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man, were fortunate to escape without injury. Police confirmed that the car was the only vehicle involved in the crash. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Wedge Island, known for its pristine beaches and rugged terrain, is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.
However, the area’s remote location and challenging driving conditions can pose risks for vehicles traveling through the region. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution when navigating beach areas, especially in isolated locations where help may be less accessible in the event of an accident.
