Dr Barbara Wolf Oxford, MI: A Flint man has been charged with 19 felony counts, including felony murder, for a Christmas Eve shooting in Oxford that claimed one life and injured two others.
Authorities report that 29-year-old Malik Letroy Webb allegedly shot and killed Dr. Barbara Wolf after she stopped to assist him when his car went off the road near Ray Road and North Oxford Road around 6:15 PM on December 24. Wolf’s 38-year-old daughter, who was a passenger in her vehicle, was also shot during the incident.
A 56-year-old man from Oxford, who stopped to help, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm. In a separate attempt, a 39-year-old woman from Oxford Township was held at gunpoint in a failed carjacking effort. Dr. Wolf was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
Wolf’s daughter remains hospitalized in serious condition, while the other victims have been treated, with one discharged from care.
“This violent and heinous act is tragic on every level,” said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. “It’s yet another case of a convicted felon with prior weapons charges being released back into the community, only to cause more harm. This senseless murder could have been avoided.”
Webb, a convicted felon, was arraigned today in Novi’s 52-1 District Court and is being held without bond. The charges against him include:
- Felony murder with carjacking as the underlying felony
- Â Three counts of assault with intent to murder
- Â Three counts of felonious assault
- Â Carjacking
- Â Carrying a concealed weapon
- Â Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person
-  Nine counts of felony firearm possession – third offense
If convicted of felony murder, Webb faces mandatory life imprisonment without parole. Authorities urge anyone with additional information to contact the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
